Artwork

Acceptable Artwork Formats

BEST: Vector art.

OKAY: High-resolution raster art.

POOR: Anything small, blurry or low resolution. Examples include printed business cards, existing T-shirt prints and thumbnail-size images sourced from the Internet. We can usually work with these images, but there will be an additional fee if the time required to prepare them exceeds our complementary artwork preparation time. We will contact you with pricing should this prove necessary.

General Artwork Guidelines

SIZE
Although it is not required, it is a good idea to send us your artwork at the size that you want it screen printed. If you don't know the exact size of the desired print, we can help you determine an appropriate size. Please keep in mind that we must size the print to fit the smallest garment or accessory in the print run. This is standard practice, and is usually not a problem unless you are printing on very small and very large items -- for example, infant Tees and oversized adult Tees. If necessary, we can create two or more sizes of the same image and set them up on our press. These will be billed as separate jobs.

COLORS
Screen printing is primarily a spot color printing process, which means that we separate each of the colors out of a design and then print them one by one. As a result, every color that is added to a piece of artwork increases the complexity and cost of the screen printing project. At Enjay Printing, we can screen print up to 8 colors in a single design, but unless money is no object or you are printing in very high volume, it is a good idea to limit yourself to the minimum number of colors that will accomplish your design goals. Remember: It's the artwork that counts -- not the number of ink colors.

TEXT / FONTS
For vector files, please convert all text to outlines (or curves) before sending the file. For Photoshop files, please rasterize/render all type layers before sending the file.
